Centre urges states, UTs to ensure coverage of economically weakest sections of population under NFSA ANI | Updated: Jun 03, 2021 12:43 IST
New Delhi [India], June 3 (ANI): The Central government on Wednesday issued an advisory to all the states and union territories to launch a special drive to issue ration cards to the most vulnerable and economically weaker sections of the population amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. To ensure coverage of all eligible identified persons from the most vulnerable and economically weakest sections of population under National Food Security Act assumes importance in view of the current pandemic scenario of Covid-19, informed the Union Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution on Thursday.
New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has so far provided more than 23 crore vaccine doses (23,11,68,480) to States/UTs, both through the free of cost category and through direct state procurement category, informed the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
Centre allocates additional 22.17 lakh vials of Remdesivir to all states, UTs ANI | Updated: May 23, 2021 22:00 IST
New Delhi [India], May 23 (ANI): Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers DV Sadananda Gowda on Sunday announced that additional 22.17 lakh vials of Remdesivir, an anti-viral drug used in the treatment of COVID-19, have been allocated to all states/UTs for the period of May 23 to May 30.
Earlier, 76.70 lakh vials of the drug were made available to all the states till May 23. So far 98.87 lakh vials of Remdesivir have been allocated across the country.
In a tweet, Gowda said: Additional 22.17 lac vials of #Remdesivir have been allocated to all states/UTs for the period 23rd to 30th May. New Delhi [India], May 21 (ANI): Amid rise in the number of patients suffering from Mucormycosis, also known as black fungus, in several parts of the country, the Union Health Ministry on Friday wrote to the all the states and union territories (UTs) advising them to review their preparedness for infection prevention and control, as well as hygiene and sanitation in hospitals.
Taking a note of the secondary and opportunistic fungal infections which are getting amplified due to the present surge in COVID cases and Mucormycosis becoming a cause of concern, Union Health Secretary in his letter to Chief Secretaries and Administrators of all States and UTs listed certain activities and urged them to undertake those practices to ensure that there are robust infection prevention and control practices in COVID hospitals and other h
