After the driest January and February on record in the state, The Department of Water Resources hopes to conserve water supplies as California's drought enters its third year.
Starting as soon as January 15, the state will adopt rules that restrict how we use drinkable water. Californians could face fines for things like hosing down driveways or watering grass within two days of rainfall. This winter had a wet start, but it’s not enough to replenish our low reservoir levels. And, according to the authorities, the next few months are predicted to be dry. The regulations will be in place for at least a year.
