Downtown Revitalization Initiative Funds Key Catalytic Projects Continuing the Governor s Goal to Enrich Communities
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced 13 projects in Schenectady that will create connections between the city s growing downtown and waterfront developments, transform existing buildings to create mixed-used spaces, and enhance the local arts scene. Funded through Schenectady s $10 million award through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative, these investments reflect the Governor s ongoing efforts to revitalize the upstate economy and create more opportunities throughout the Capital Region.
Opening of GREAT PERFORMANCES Headquarters Signals Recovery for NYC s Hospitality Industry and the Bronx
Great Performances, New York City s esteemed catering and events company, took up residence in its new 51,000 sq. ft. headquarters in the South Bronx s Bruckner Building at 2417 Third Avenue on May 4,2021. The company s move into the space occupying two-and-a-half full floors of the former factory building, which was built out at a cost of $7 million, comes more than a year after Great Performances (GP) vacated its much smaller Hudson Square campus in July 2019. Since then, GP has been operating out of alternate office space in the Bruckner Building and a temporary kitchen the company built in a warehouse nearby on Park Ave.

Projects Selected as Part of Governor s $300 Million Resiliency & Economic Development Initiative
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced the start of construction on a $1.3 million resiliency project awarded to the Fort de la Presentation Association, St. Lawrence County, through the Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative. The Fort de la Presentation site, located in the City of Ogdensburg, was once used by American, Canadian, Native American, French and British people for worship, trade and protection during wartime. The site is now used for reenactments and community recreation. The project site is located on a peninsula on the St. Lawrence River at the intersection of the Oswegatchie River. Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced construction has begun on two of the 11 projects awarded to the Town of Greece in Monroe County through the Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative. Currently, many homes on Lakeshore Drive are subject to flooding because they do not have adequate protection against high water conditions.
