Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty-led bench struck down several provisions of the West Bengal Backward Classes (Other than Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) (Reservation of Vacancies in Services and Posts) Act, 2012.
Maha CM Eknath Shinde said, "The government is making sincere efforts to bring the Maratha community within the framework of the reservation law in a step-by-step manner."
