Battle Chasers: Nightwar is one of those RPGs I ve had my eye on for years but could never quite find the time to actually sit down and play. Fortunately, its arrival on Xbox Game Pass for PC means I now have no excuse, and goodness, it really is quite the looker. Based on Joe Madureira s comic book of the same name, this super stylish RPG dungeon crawler scratches a lot of retro itches, combining the turn-based battles of ye olde Final Fantasy games with Diablo-like dungeon looting to great effect.
Kowloon Nights Is Funding 23 Games, Including Sea of Stars & Projects from Spiritfarer, Afterparty Devs
Kowloon Nights, a video game fund dedicated to supporting independent developers all over the world, has announced that it has formed new partnerships with various developers, with 23 new titles currently in the works. Kowloon Nights offers many benefits to studios that it chooses to fund, including full creative control and full ownership of IP. Additionally, developers receive revenue share from the first dollar, with no 100% recoupment period.
Of these 23 new titles, there are definitely some from indie studios that have made a big name for themselves in the past year or so. One such developer is Kaizen Game Works, which released the excellent murder mystery title,
Independent funding source Kowloon Nights has kicked off 2021 with a deluge of new partnerships to fund 23 new upcoming games from indie studios.
These projects include new, unannounced titles from Paradise Killer developer Kaizen Game Works; Star Renegades developer Massive Damage; Oxenfree and Afterparty studio Night School; OlliOlli developer Roll7; Absolver developer Sloclap; and a new game from Thunder Lotus, the team behind last year s Spiritfarer.
Kowloon Nights is also supporting several previously announced projects, including Rose City Games/Picogram s Garden Story; Sabotage Studio s Sea of Stars, set in the same universe as the developer s prior project The Messenger; and She Dreams Elsewhere, the debut project from one-person team Studio Zevere.
