Last month, Hero Initiative a long-running charity that provides security for veterans of the comics industry and the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC) announced that they had teamed up to launch Double Vision Auctions. The idea? For big-name artists and big-name characters to create a tag team approach to their charitable donations donations which will then go to benefit both Hero and BINC. The auctions launched on February 2, and have been refreshing with new art every week since then.
Some of the comic industry s biggest talents have come together to produce unique original art pieces, featuring great combos of two artists and two characters benefiting two charities Hero Initiative and The Binc Foundation s Comicbook United Fund.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is one of those RPGs I ve had my eye on for years but could never quite find the time to actually sit down and play. Fortunately, its arrival on Xbox Game Pass for PC means I now have no excuse, and goodness, it really is quite the looker. Based on Joe Madureira s comic book of the same name, this super stylish RPG dungeon crawler scratches a lot of retro itches, combining the turn-based battles of ye olde Final Fantasy games with Diablo-like dungeon looting to great effect.

Today marks a momentous occasion for me, as it marks the 25th anniversary of my first ever review for Worlds Of Wonder, which was published on Jan 19,1996.
What began as a short term adventure to finance my studies and then later, my wedding, has surprisingly led to my longest “employment” to date. A lot has happened over the last 25 years, but somehow it seems like only yesterday that I sent a fax (look it up, kids) to Davin Arul, the co-founder of WOW (which used to be known as Marvellous Mags), trying my luck to secure a dream “apprentice” job. To my surprise, he made me his successor instead.

The Ultimates are an alternative take on the Marvel Universe that gained popularity about 20 years ago. The Ultimates provide a grittier, less kid friendly, skewed take on the regular Marvel Comics characters. Ultimate characterizations became so popular that many of them made their way into the movies of the Marvel Cinematic Universe â the most recognizable being Nick Fury, who the Ultimates storyline changed from being a white World War II veteran to a character who looked like Samuel L. Jackson who, of course, played Fury in the movies.
