Gujarat government has decided to reopen schools in the state for classes 9 and 11 from February 1 onwards, said state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. The offline classes would resume in the state along with the online mode of learning in the state.
While speaking to the media, the state education minister said, “The Education Department has prepared a Standard Operating Protocol on January 8 to resume offline studies for Classes 10 and 12. The same SOP will be implemented for Classes 9 and 11 from February 1. Similar to teaching at school, we are also permitting the resumption of offline tuition classes across the state, subject to SOP and CO

Gandhinagar Jan 27 : The Gujarat government on Wednesday decided to resume offline studies for Classes 9 and 11 in its schools from February 1.
Earlier, offline studies for Classes 10 and 12 was permitted from January 11.
Offline tuition for all these classes have also been allowed, in addition to the online mode.
Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama told the media: The Education Department had prepared a Standard Operating Protocol on January 8 to resume offline studies for Classes 10 and 12. The same SOP will be implemented for Classes 9 and 11 from February 1. Similar to teaching at school, we are also permitting resumption of offline tuition classes across the state, subject to SOP and Covid guidelines.

On Friday evening City Press Executive Editor Dumisane Lubisi (44) passed away from a heart attack. Over the past few days, City Press has received many tributes, condolences and messages of nostalgia from friends, colleagues and acquaintances.
During his time at City Press, Lubisi served as senior reporter, commissioning editor of opinion and analysis section Voices and also as the paper’s ombudsman.He was a keen road runner and was often seen in the office in particularly garish and bright running shoes. Dumi will be sorely missed by his City Press friends and colleagues.
The union health ministry on Sunday has issued fresh guidelines for the forthcoming Kumbh Mela in Haridwar. As per the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP), pilgrims will be required to carry a Covid-19 negative certificate after undergoing an RT-PCR test.
According to the Centre s guidelines, RT-PCR test taken not more than 72 hours prior to their visit to Haridwar during the Kumbh Mela are mandatory. The reports will also be required to be uploaded on the Uttarakhand government’s official web portal.
Senior citizens above 65 years of age, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 will not be permitted to visit Haridwar during Kumbh. Patients with underlying health conditions and comorbidities such diabetes, hypertension, cardiac disease, chronic lung disease, cerebro-vascular disease, chronic kidney disease, immune-suppression and cancer will be “discouraged” to visit.
