Now, yesterday afternoon the 32 yearold man approached officers at 16th and mission and asked what type of gun they carried. Police say he also asked about ammunition if they had ever shot and killed someone. Then yesterday evening, police say the same man was in the parking lot of the Mission Police station. Officers told him it was a restricted area. And he walked away. But as they were leaving they saw him again standing in the drive way. Went to approach him and said, you cant be here. Went to his waistband and saw a gun and drew. He says the mans gun turned out to be a remember replica. But did not have the orange tip. We are as aware of us as any. Officers are looking out for one another all the time. We have a job to do and were going get it done. The chief says within a few days he will hold a town hall meeting to review what had happened and as he does, after any, as he always does after any officerinvolved shooting. After the second time police say the man reached for his waste band where officers could see the base of a handgun. The Police Officers open fire, they shot the man 3 times, he later died at the hospital.
