Lauded chef Alejandro Paredes is casting a wider net for his Fish Lonja concept.
The companion spot to Carnitas Lonja, the popular spot on Roosevelt, opened in 2019 with fresh fish and shrimp ceviches and fish tacos. The food is fresh and light, a nice counterpart to the unctuous carnitas Paredes has received plenty of accolades for, with nods in Eater and Esquire in 2018.
The food and Paredes caught the attention of Chad Carey of the Empty Stomach Group behind Barbaro, Extra Fine, Rumble, Pizza Party, Little Death and Hot Joy. The result? Mutual respect for all things Empty Stomach and Carnitas, in which will now result in a partnership between Paredes and the Empty Stomach Group.

On Monday, the group announced the decision via an 8-minute sequence, dubbed Epilogue, which showed one of the members initiating a destruction sequence, the blast that followed and a timestamp from 1993-2021. Kathryn Frazier, Daft Punk s longtime representative, confirmed the breakup to Rolling Stone but declined to provide any details on the split.
French musicians Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are the humans behind the iconic helmets. The duo has accomplished a lot together, composing the score for the 2010 film Tron: Legacy, along with winning six Grammy Awards.
