Scheduling for pharmacy COVID vaccine appointments opens

Created: February 11, 2021 07:40 AM ROCHESTER, N.Y.(WHEC) Vaccine distribution is ramping in a big way in the Rochester area and across the nation starting Thursday as 6,500 pharmacies nationwide begin scheduling for appointments, which can start Friday. This is part of President Joe Biden s plan to make 100 million doses are available to Americans in his first 100 days in office. The doses will arrive directly from the federal government.  Locally, both CVS and Walgreens will offer the vaccines, but it ll be based on availability and state eligibility requirements.  The Pharmacy Society of Rochester tells News10NBC local pharmacies have been gearing up for this day for some time so they would have the staff to handle the shipments and keep up with current vaccinations.

St John Fisher College urged to strip Rudy Giuliani of honorary degree

Rudy Giuliani Amidst pressure from faculty and alumni, St. John Fisher College s Board of Trustees is considering whether to rescind the honorary degree the school awarded to Rudy Giuliani. In a statement Tuesday, the Board of Trustees said it planned to meet to discuss the matter, though it did not offer a specific date for when that would happen. We are aware of the requests from some in our community to rescind the honorary degree that the College bestowed upon former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in 2015, a statement from the Board of Trustees reads. The matter of rescinding an honorary degree is the purview of the College’s Board of Trustees as the authorities to grant an honorary degree.
