ROCHESTER, N.Y.(WHEC) Vaccine distribution is ramping in a big way in the Rochester area and across the nation starting Thursday as 6,500 pharmacies nationwide begin scheduling for appointments, which can start Friday.
This is part of President Joe Biden s plan to make 100 million doses are available to Americans in his first 100 days in office. The doses will arrive directly from the federal government.
Locally, both CVS and Walgreens will offer the vaccines, but it ll be based on availability and state eligibility requirements.
The Pharmacy Society of Rochester tells News10NBC local pharmacies have been gearing up for this day for some time so they would have the staff to handle the shipments and keep up with current vaccinations.
