The Bulldogs pushed out to a big lead early, netting three goals in the opening period. The Huskies got on the board in the second, but UMD responded with their fourth to keep St. Cloud s deficit at three. UMD put it away 5-1 with an empty-net goal in the final period. Zach Okabe scored the lone goal for SCSU. David Hrenak made 21 saves and allowed four goals. Jaxon Castor made eight saves. The Huskies fall to 14-9. CLOUD The St. Cloud State University men s basketball team closed out their regular season with a much-needed win over the University of Minnesota-Duluth. SCSU dominated in the opening half, leading UMD 43-36 by the break. The Bulldogs fought to close the gap in the second half, but St. Cloud held on to win it 91-86. Anthony Roberts led the Huskies with 29 points and 12 rebounds. Caleb Donaldson added 20 points. The Huskies finish the season 8-8 overall and 6-6 NSIC. They hold the no. 4 seed in the North Division and must await their fate regarding next weekend s NSIC tournament.

Huskies Beat No.6 Bulldogs 60-49 DULUTH The St. Cloud State University women s basketball team handed the no. 6 ranked University of Minnesota-Duluth their first loss of the season on the road Friday. The Bulldogs dropped the first basket, but the Huskies rallied and led by as many as six in the opening quarter. Duluth worked their way back and cut St. Cloud s lead to 12-11 entering the second frame. SCSU went off for 22 points while holding UMD to 9 to lead 34-20 at the break. Both teams netted 12 in the third to bring the score up to 46-32. The Bulldogs fought hard in the fourth, outscoring the Huskies 17-14 but it was not enough to overcome the deficit. St. Cloud took the win 60-49.
