PITTSBURGH All season long, St. Cloud State has been exceeding expectations.
Picked to finish fourth in the NCHC, the Huskies took second in both the regular season and conference tournament.
Seeded second in the NCAA Northeast Regional, St. Cloud State beat No. 3 seed Boston University and No. 1 Boston College by a combined seven goals.
And now the Huskies will play for their first NCAA Division I national championship after their dramatic, 5-4 victory over Minnesota State Mankato on Thursday in the Frozen Four at PPG Paints Arena.

Nolan Walker helped Saint Cloud State continue its dream postseason with a go-ahead goal with 52.3 seconds left.
With the game tied 4-4 in the final minute, Seamus Donohue fired it at the net before Walker deflected it in for the game-winner.

Huskies Advance To National Championship After Thriller With Mankato
The St. Cloud State men s hockey team is headed to the NCAA national championship game after topping Minnesota State-Mankato 5-4 in a thrilling semifinal in Pittsburgh.
Former local high school hockey standouts Spencer Meier (Sartell) and Will Hammer (Cathedral) each scored goals in the win.
The Huskies will be appearing in their first-ever National Championship game.
The Huskies got on the board first early in the first period when Sartell native Spencer Meier found the back of the net on a rebound at 3:18. Meier s goal was assisted by Kevin Fitzgerald and Zach Okabe.
