Two students from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering have won the recently held Asean-India hackathon.

The final-year Computer Science and Engineering students, Navin Sridhar and V. Kamalnath, were selected from over five lakh participants from engineering colleges across the country. They passed rigorous technical online tests conducted by the innovation cell of the Union Education Ministry and got through interviews to represent the country at the event, held virtually from February 1 to 3. They were selected from over 1,000 shortlisted teams.
Mr. Sridhar’s team included one student each from Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia, besides three others from India. The Vietnamese national could not participate in the last minute. There was one girl in the team.

Self-operating kiosk at youth festival catches the eye
Here’s a self-operating kiosk that enables one access the server and take the printout of any of the identity cards recognised by the government.
The kiosk was on display at ‘Prerana’, the two-day district-level Youth Festival 2021 organised at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering campus that ended on Wednesday. Touted as the first-ever event, it aims at all-round development of youth in Chittoor district. Developed by Sai Ram’s Innomations India Private Limited, having Tirupati as its headquarters, the kiosk received laurels from MLC Y. Srinivasulu Reddy and District Collector Bharat Narayana Gupta during its inauguration.
