COLOMBO (News 1st): Upon initiating investigations with regard to the video that circulated via social media containing footage of a brutal assault on an infant, Sri Lanka Police on Tuesday (Mar. 02) arrested the abusive mother.
According to Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana, following investigations, Police were able to trace the location to Nawaladi, Ariyala in Jaffna Police area.
“The Police officers who visited the location this morning (Mar. 02) found the infant who is nine-month-old and the abusive mother who is 24-year-old,” DIG Ajith Rohana told News 1st.
The woman was arrested by Jaffna Police and the baby was taken into police custody to ensure he is taken care of in the future.
