Police arrested 12 persons in two election-related cases in Ganjam district. Four persons were arrested for the clash between supporters of two political parties during polling at Berunhabadi under Tarsingi police station limits on Monday. 'Eight persons were arrested for their involvement in a clash between BJD and BJP supporters at Dihapadhal under Bhanjanagar police station limits on Sunday night,' said SP (Ganjam) Jagmohan Meena on Tuesday. At least three persons were injured in the pre-poll violence at Dihapadhal, which took place over distribution of voter slips to people. On getting information, police rushed to the spots and brought the situation under control, he said. 'Meena said police have registered two counter cases in connection with the pre-poll clash at Dihapadhal.
