Researchers from Lund University in Sweden have made a groundbreaking discovery, demonstrating that artificial intelligence (AI) can identify breast cancer at a rate comparable to two experienced radiologists. In a test, half of the scans were assessed by two breast cancer radiologists, while the other half were evaluated using an AI-supported screening tool, followed by review from radiologists. The study revealed a low false-positive rate of 1.5% in both the AI group and the radiologist-assessed group.
