As World Breastfeeding Week (August 1st - 7th) comes to a close, Saudi Arabia's Health Ministry has taken a decisive step to protect breastfeeding by imposing a fine of US$67,000 on an undisclosed pharmaceutical company. The company was found to be in breach of Saudi Arabia's Breast Milk Substitutes (BMS) code, a regulation set in place to safeguard the health and well-being of infants.
