SPOKANE, Wash. Saint George s put-in on the Little Spokane River at Riverside State Park banned paddle boards this summer.
The change is in line with the Washington Administrative Code 352-32-15001. This limits certain activities that could damage the habitat of the park. This a popular place for many Spokanites to paddleboard in the summer. Since the rise in popularity of paddleboards, parks staff has noticed a decline in the natural resources, according to Washington State Parks and Recreation.
OLYMPIA, Wash.– Paddle boarding will not be allowed at the reopening of the St. George’s Put-in on the Little Spokane River.
Along with the regular prohibitions of swimming, inner-tubing and other flotation devices similar flotation devices, the reopening of the put-in by Washington State Parks on May 28 will not be allowing stand up paddle boards (SUPs) in the Little Spokane River Area.
Studies have shown that more people are likely to fall into the river using SUPs than using canoes, rowboats, kayaks and rafts.
