OLYMPIA, Wash.– Paddle boarding will not be allowed at the reopening of the St. George’s Put-in on the Little Spokane River.
Along with the regular prohibitions of swimming, inner-tubing and other flotation devices similar flotation devices, the reopening of the put-in by Washington State Parks on May 28 will not be allowing stand up paddle boards (SUPs) in the Little Spokane River Area.
Studies have shown that more people are likely to fall into the river using SUPs than using canoes, rowboats, kayaks and rafts.
Paddleboarders are allowed at these locations:
Please Flats (on the Spokane River)
Nine Mile Recreation Area (Lake Spokane)
