Massachusetts State Police on Thursday said it launched its body-worn camera system as personnel assigned to Troop F began training with the technology this week.
Troop F, which is located in East Boston near Logan International Airport, will be the first MSP section to wear the cameras after training, according to a press release issued by state police. Officials selected Troop F as the site of the training because it operates out of a single barracks location, they said.
Massachusetts State Police Superintendent Col. Christopher S. Mason said the body-worn camera program represents the next step in the effort to keep officers safe while also holding them accountable for their actions.
