this incredible new reporting on don mcgahn. he is the lawyer for the office of the presidency. giving bob mueller his account of what s gone on inside the west wing. has he flipped on the president of the united states for all intents and purposes? i ve got a great team to help me break it all down. let s explain where things stand first though. we have learned a lot about bob mueller s investigation just in the past couple of days. it started with that new york times reporting that white house counsel don mcgahn had spoken to mueller least three times, spending 30 hours with the special counsel investigators. why is that important? because mcgahn has had a front row seat to many of the key incidents mueller is investigating. that includes the firing of jim comey and the president s attempts to gain some measure of control over the russia investigation. that s what the new york times is describing as, quote, the president s most intimate
complete fiction. yesterday, rudy guilliani addressed what mcgahn might have said. we have a good sense obviously of what mr. mcgahn testified to. i can figure it out from how do you say that, good sense? have you debriefed him? no, no, but mr. dowd has a fwd sen good sense of it. two people close to the president tell the new york times mcgahn s lawyer only a limited accounting of what the white house counsel has told special counsel investigators. joining me onset, dan any is a savalis. let s talk about the revelation that don mcgahn has been cooperating with the mueller investigation, to the sense at least he has been interviewed by them. what does it tell us and how does it fit into trump s legal strategy? there s no revelation that don mcgahn is talking to special counsel mueller. he is white house counsel, not

interviewed by the special counsel investigators. what part of the story is roger stone? well, i think he s more a part of the collusion, certainly part of the collusion question rather than the obstruction question. right. if there is collusion, that s where he fits. he s the colluder perhaps. one of the great mysteries about roger stone is he s like donald trump, a liar, lies all the time about things. he was always he made a point of being vague about how much he was talking to the president during the course of the campaign. it was always you could never tell whether his vagueness was to cover up the fact they were talking all the time or to cover up the fact they were never talking and he was trying to inflate his own self-importance. so what did donald trump know? we don t know the answers to that. given the connection s to what we ve seen, the number of communications he was having of people who ended up being involved in the hacks hackers. including the hawk
they don t want to have him answer in person with the special counsel investigators, so we ll see. we don t know whether or not this is the proposal that will win the day. obviously this is something that again has been going on for about eight months. is this simply part of a new stalling tactic? how likely is it that the president will sit down with mueller? so far the special counsel has not been willing to budge on the idea that they want a sit down interview with the president, that for this investigation to be over, for it to be wrapped up, especially the obstruction of justice questions, wolf, for that to happen, the president has to sit down with the special counsel. so we ll see. it doesn t seem likely the special counsel will accept this idea either. the trump campaign chairman paul manafort, his trial has been delayed until next week, but potential jurors were given a questionnaire to determine their ability to serve. what stood out to you, evan, about the questionnair
