On September 27, the Russian Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) and later landed in Kazakhstan, marking the completion of the mission. The expedition has proved to be the longest, breaking the record for a space flight duration.
Russian cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Dmitry Petelin and NASA astronaut Frank Rubio, who broke the record for the longest spaceflight at the International Space Station (ISS), landed in Kazakhstan on Wednesday, according to the broadcast by the Mission Control Center in the Moscow Region.
Sputnik goes live as the Soyuz MS-23 spacecraft begins its descent from orbit. During its descent the spacecraft will split into compartments: the descent vehicle with crew and cargo will continue its controlled descent, while the rest of the ship will burn up in the dense atmosphere.
