Southport seemed to fair well in the wind and rain storm on Monday, Dec. 18. A few trees were down, one near the Methodist Church. I heard one did fall on a house and the support structure for the deck and float at All Saints by-the-Sea was badly.
As most residents across the region coped without power Dec. 19, some found a warm welcome at Southport Memorial Library. The library hosted its second annual Holiday Open House, providing fresh baked goods, hot beverages and cheer. Librarians Jen.
With Christmas Eve being on Sunday this year, the Southport United Methodist Church will have one service that day, combining the morning service with a Christmas Eve service at 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to join Southport friends and neighbors in.
If you are reading this in time note that on Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. in the Southport Town Hall, the Southport school children will entertain us with their Christmas concert. Should that be a snow day, the concert will take place the following week, Dec.
Tuesday, Dec. 19 The Southport Memorial Library will host a Holiday Open House from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a children's story time and craft at 10 a.m., live piano music from 1 to 3 p.m.; with coffee, hot chocolate, and cookies all day.
