Southport seemed to fair well in the wind and rain storm on Monday, Dec. 18. A few trees were down, one near the Methodist Church. I heard one did fall on a house and the support structure for the deck and float at All Saints by-the-Sea was badly.
With Christmas Eve being on Sunday this year, the Southport United Methodist Church will have one service that day, combining the morning service with a Christmas Eve service at 3:30 p.m. All are welcome to join Southport friends and neighbors in.

Our Southport Central School opens on Tuesday, Sept. 5 with 19 students in grades pre-k though 6. All staff from last year have returned, and the bus schedule remains the same, so returning students will find all familiar. This school year is.
