The 7-day Covid-19 infection rate in Enfield almost doubled (Image: Pixabay) The seven-day coronavirus infection rate has nearly doubled in Enfield as the borough prepares to enter the highest level of restrictions. The latest data shows the rate of new Covid-19 cases per 100,000 people reached 424.4 in the week to December 11 – up by 89 per cent on the previous week. In Haringey, the increase was less pronounced, climbing by 44 per cent to 279.7 new cases per 100,000. The latest infection rate data is based on figures from Public Health England published on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard. It is subject to slight variations, as the figures are continually revised.
