A SOUTHAMPTON teenager who assaulted five people in one day has been handed a rehabilitation order. A 17-year-old Shirley boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, assaulted five people, damaged a car and smashed a mobile phone on May 30 this year. The boy appeared at Southampton Youth Court on July 22 and pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, three counts of assault by beating and two counts of criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £400 compensation and was handed a youth rehabilitation order. This means the defendant must participate in Building Better Relationships and Y2A programme at as directed by Youth Offending Service for 14 days.
Boy admits grievous bodily harm after man stabbed in Southampton street attack A BOY is due to be sentenced after he admitted causing grievous bodily harm to a man who was stabbed in a Southampton street attack. The 14-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was on trial charged with attempted murder following the incident in October 2020. A jury was unable to reach a verdict but the boy will now be sentenced after he pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to causing grievious bodily harm and possession of a bladed weapon. The incident in Barnfield Road left a 56-year-old man with two stab wounds following a fight.
