Inside the once majestic country of cambodia, after a decade of war, history witnessed the collapse of the regime. It would end with one of the worst genocides the world had ever seen. This memorial helps to ensure that the world never forgets those who died during the years of the cambodia killing fields. Yet, there is more to the story. There is the untold episode of the fate of tens of thousands of survivors who sought refuge inside thailand. This is my father in a refugee camp in 1980. American veterans memorial. We broke ground this morning and we will turn to the business of building the memorial next week. And so were glad that youre here. Were excited to be talking about the memorial and lets get right to it. With me is harvey pratt. Harvey is a citizen of the tribes of oklahoma. Shes a cheyenne peace chief. It would hit biographical topics or would you say representative biography to get at a broader subject of history. They had just published their first volume, it was on pocahontas because of the issues regarding native American History. They were looking for someone to do something on American Foreign relations.
