City Link Africa airline launches flights to Wau City Link Africa Company in collaboration with Mbili Company on Tuesday launched scheduled flights on the Juba-Wau route just a week after the suspension of South Supreme airline after a fatal crash. The aircraft which carries 50 passengers has already been operating in the country and will be flying the Juba-Wau route thrice a week on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday for 50,000 SSP per ticket according to Wol Charles, the Wau branch director of the airline.  On flight safety concerns by the public after a spate of recent plane crashes, Wol said the aircraft is leased from South Africa and is compliant with insurance and safety regulations.

As a temporary measure to deal with these avoidable air accidents before the laws governing civil aviation are strengthened via legislative means, I am hereby directing Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Authority to suspend South Supreme Airlines operations in South Sudan. This measure is necessary for these institutions to ascertain airworthiness of the remaining South Supreme planes, and restore public confidence in air travel in the country, President Salva Kiir Mayardit said in a statement read out on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation.

South Sudan Plane Crash Kills All 10 On Board

  The authorities in South Sudan have confirmed that a small plane crashed on Tuesday evening in the eastern Jonglei State, killing all the 10 people on board. It happened at Pieri airstrip shortly after take-off while heading to the capital, Juba. A team of investigators was being sent to the site of the crash to conduct preliminary investigations, Transport Minister Madut Biar Yel said. The plane belonged to a local aviation company, the South Supreme Airlines. The firm has not yet issued a statement about the crash. Jonglei State Governor Denay Jock Chagor said he received the news with shock and horror and sent condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.

‘Plane crash victims families will be compensated’ Businessman Ayii The families of victims of the ill-fated South Supreme Airlines plane crash of March 2, 2021, will be compensated, the company’s owner has said. The plane HK-4274, crashed on Tuesday evening in Uror County of Jonglei State, killing two pilots and all eight passengers on board, according to government officials.  It landed safely at Pieri Payam and was taking off to head to Yuai town and then to Juba when the accident took place at 5 pm. Following the fatal crash, South Sudanese president Salva Kiir directed the transport ministry and civil aviation authority to suspend operations of the airline until the cause of its plane crash is established.
