Wau launches construction of 52-Km tarmac road Western Bahr el Ghazal state ministry of roads and bridges has launched a road construction project aimed at tarmacking about 52 kilometers of roads within Wau town. Muhamaden Abubakar Muhamaden, the state minister said the new project is an initiative from the national government to be implemented by a local construction company African Recourse Cooperation (ARC). “The project is being supported by the national government coming from the presidency and the national ministry of road and bridges. They offered us 52 kilometers within Wau town, the state capital of Western Bahr el Ghazal state. The national government agreed with national companies particularly ARC mainly, (African Recourse Cooperation), they have signed the contract into law to construct 52 kilometers inside Wau town,” he said. 

City Link Africa airline launches flights to Wau

City Link Africa airline launches flights to Wau City Link Africa Company in collaboration with Mbili Company on Tuesday launched scheduled flights on the Juba-Wau route just a week after the suspension of South Supreme airline after a fatal crash. The aircraft which carries 50 passengers has already been operating in the country and will be flying the Juba-Wau route thrice a week on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday for 50,000 SSP per ticket according to Wol Charles, the Wau branch director of the airline.  On flight safety concerns by the public after a spate of recent plane crashes, Wol said the aircraft is leased from South Africa and is compliant with insurance and safety regulations.
