Raising money all day on kcrgtv9 to help feed seniors. That means every penny raised today goes to the Heritage Area Agency on aging and its senior Meals Program. Together, we raised 115 meals delivered to homebound seniors. It also offers meals at dining sites across the sevencounty region heritage serves. Last year, that totaled more than 320thousand meals for seniors in need. Statewide, about 72,000 seniors dont know when or where theyll get their next meal. 67 of those getting a meal from heritage are at or below the federal poverty level. Its donations and telethons like this that fight the the programs funding comes from donations. But over the last ten years, those donations have dropped more than 237,000 dollars.
