The year 2021 has begun, pandemic regulations continue, and the proposed DGR (deep geological repository) is still an issue. South Bruce and area residents got a South Bruce and NWMO’s Adaptive Phased Management Project pamphlet just prior to the holidays. SB project manager Dave Rushton, suggested this would be your 8 pages of holiday reading material. Really! Who ever wrote this pamphlet is not a long time resident of South Bruce. It demeans seniors saying “South Bruce is an aging community…. this means families, workers, young people, and students are less inclined to remain in the community…”. So that is seniors fault? And using that circa mid-20th century picture of the main street with seven parked cars and calling it “a busy downtown”? Any given day today, there are more cars parked and travelling on that main street.
