Steven J. Caisse has been named Athol Daily News Circulation Manager. He comes to the Daily News from the Clinton Daily Item where he managed the circulation department. He started in circulation at the Daily News, working from 1984-1987.
■Curt Rand, director of community service for the Athol-Orange Area Rotary Club, recently presented citations recognizing two local organizations for service to family and community. Rand cited the child abuse prevention services provided by Valuing Our Children and the values-oriented sports programs sponsored by the Athol Area YMCA.
■Kindergarten children at Sanders Street School meet weekly with third-grade buddies. They read aloud and do related projects together.

1:13 a.m. Caller reporting her neighbor’s residence has all windows open and air conditioners running for past two days, Central Street. No issues at the home. All was well.
2:13 a.m. Officer out with an occupied vehicle, Pequoig Avenue. Checked on a male party sitting in the parking lot. Male party was sent on way.
2:48 a.m. 911 call for CO detectors sounding with smell of gas, Lindsay Lane. AFD handled the call. Ventilating for low levels of CO.
3:52 a.m. 911 call for an unresponsive 70-year-old male who fell and is not breathing, Castle Avenue.

12:58 a.m. 911 call for a pole/wire sparking and popping sounds, D Street. National Grid on scene. Assisted FD.
1:15 a.m. Life Alert for an 83-year-old female, possible stroke, North Orange Road. Assisted AFD. Transported to hospital.
4:01 a.m. 911 call for an elderly female screaming for help from outside in her garage, Ella Street. Officer requesting ambulance for lift assist of female into her residence. Officer states female has been out in the cold for approximately two hours. Assisted FD. Transported to hospital.
8:19 a.m. Officer is assisting a citizen, Chestnut Street.
