BRIAN ALEXANDER CHERNIKOVICH, 28, 820 Milner St. in Alliance, was arrested at 4:40 p.m. Jan. 21, 2021, on Milner Street. Police located Chernikovich while he was operating a vehicle on Milner. Police say the defendant was wanted on warrants out of Alliance Municipal Court. He also has four open suspensions of his operator’s license. Warrants were served for obstructing official business, a second-degree felony; complicity to theft and complicity to breaking and entering, both fifth-degree felonies; and the defendant also was charged with driving under suspension. Chernikovich was released on a recognizance bond, per Alliance Municipal Court’s COVID-19 protocol.

AIMEE VICTORIA HALL, 26, of 227 S. Linden Ave. in Alliance, was arrested at 6:40 p.m. Jan. 6, 2021, at East Broadway and South Freedom in Alliance. Police report Hall was a passenger in a vehicle that was stopped when an officer noticed her in the vehicle. Police report Hall was actively wanted on a warrant out of Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear for an OVI charge from October 2020. When officers stopped the vehicle, they reported that Hall attempted to hide a backpack in the back seat. Police found approximately 27 grams of methamphetamine in 3 separate baggies; a digital scale with residue; baggies; and a glass bubble pipe with residue. Police report Hall had the items in a box with large magnets, used to conceal the box on metal items, such as motor vehicles. The report says Hall declined a voluntary drug screen. It was an uncertain year for the City of Alliance, as the coronavirus pandemic changed the way people functioned in their day-to-day lives. Despite the pandemic s effects on health, business and the economy, the city made progress with several development projects that it looks to continue in 2021.
Alliance development activity
Director of Planning and Development Joe Mazzola said the pandemic did not significantly affect the city in terms of development activity. Those things that were on the drawing table before the pandemic hit proceeded, Mazzola said. Some were delayed a month or two, but everything has gone through as we had anticipated.
