This weekend’s Razorback Invitational features an impressive field of 16 teams competing inside the Randal Tyson Track Center on Friday and Saturday. Five of the schools entered currently rank among the top 10 national ratings in the early indoor season.
Razorback Ayden Owens-Delerme claimed just the second ever decathlon gold medal for Puerto Rico during the Central American and Caribbean Games, winning the event with a meet record 8,281 points while teammate Yariel Soto Torrado earned a bronze medal with 7,762 points.
Through the first day of the decathlon contested at the Central American and Caribbean Games, Razorback Ayden Owens-Delerme leads the field of nine with a score of 4,436 points while teammate Yariel Soto Torrado is currently in fifth place with 4,033 points.
Battling throughout the NCAA decathlon, Yariel Soto Torrado produced a career best score of 7,917 points to earn the Razorbacks three team points. Teammate Daniel Spejcher finished 10 with a score of 7,688 points.
