A TRIO of organisations based at the former home of Royal Worcester have joined the sponsors supporting an elephant-themed arts trail. Royal Porcelain Works, The Museum of Royal Worcester and GoodRoots coffee shop, all neighbours at the historic Royal Porcelain Works site, have teamed up to sponsor a sculpture for Worcester’s Big Parade. Set to arrive in the city this July, the trail will see a herd of decorated elephant sculptures parading through the city’s streets for eight weeks. A Wild in Art event, the parade is being brought to Worcester by St Richard’s Hospice. Kathy Leather, general manager for Royal Porcelain Works, said: “Three years ago the giraffe trail was a resounding success and we loved our giraffe standing in pride of place in the Courtyard, right in front of our beautiful Henry Sandon Hall.

The Christmas trail is free and there are eight seasonal clues to be found. Sophie Heath, museum director said:“We are excited to launch a free family Christmas scavenger hunt to explore the museum throughout December and into January. We invite visitors to have a fun and festive day out during the holidays, helping Santa find all eight festive objects hidden in our galleries, for a small treat at the end. We know that big kids will enjoy it just as much as little ones! We are managing visitor flow through our advance booking timed ticket system and have all the social distancing and hygiene measures to enable visitors to feel safe and comfortable in our stunning spacious galleries.
