This large Vehicle Driver Training Program was not just recommended through the vision zero process which involves many stakeholders from both within the government and outside. It actually initiated originated from the mayor himself and towards the end of 2013 when we had a number much serious and fatal incidents in our streets, and again as the mayor said its a small number of incidents that involve large vehicles but they tend to be disproportionately sever and fatal and after a rash of those and completely in supervisor kims district that the marge charged us with developing this program and with great cooperation from the california trucking association, from the teamsters, from people locally here and ups and fed

The deaths of three pedestrians since new years eve has many demanding city leaders take action. Tonight, they say they have a plan. Jean elle is live with more on whats to come. Reporter San Francisco police say poke street here is a pedestrian hot spot because people get hit here frequently. Take a look, that memorial over there is for a 6yearold that was hit in the cross walk. Her death has prompted city leaders to promote a safety campaign. But critics say the plan doesnt do enough. Police say the pedestrians who was hit was a man in his 20s. He was taken to sap frn General Hospital and we are told with life threatening injuries. Very serious. Police say the pedestrians was outside the crosswalk and the driver has not been charged. Now this is at least the fourth serious pedestrians accident in the city for the past three days. 2 people died in those accidents. Now moving on. This is surveillance of the arson attack on the chinese consulate in San Francisco. Its a key piece of evidence, obviously, for the fbi now locating the person who did it. We are learning new details about a man who that attack as well. This happened at the front door to the consulate on laguna street off gary boulevard. Vick lee is on the story. Today.
