For Merion Village resident John Row, the Drexel Theatre in Bexley is not just a movie theater but also something of a way of life.
The 70-year-old retiree has been going to the movies at the Drexel for about 54 years of the theater’s 84-year existence. In 1966, Row, then a student at St. Charles Preparatory School, began seeing classic films there as part of class assignments.
“We saw ‘Romeo and Juliet’ there, ‘A Man for All Seasons,’” Row said. “I was kind of hooked on it at that point, and I just started going as a regular customer.”
