Cambodia's official ceremonies in honour of National Tree Planting or Arbour Day on July 9 will be held at the Sambour Meas forest extension and restoration station in Snoeng commune’s Sambour Meas village of Battambang province’s Banan district.
The Ministry of Environment – in cooperation with the Kampong Chhnang Provincial Administration – planted 24,000 mixed trees to rehabilitate the flooded forests of Zone 3 of the Tonle Sap Lake area. The April 25 planting took place in Thnal Chheuteal village of Kampong Leng district’s Phlov Touk commune.

Authorities in the capital and major population centres have reminded the public to refrain from dangerous activities during the Khmer New Year celebrations, including those involving the use of water, powder, fireworks and explosives, as provincial authorities prepare to organise festive events.
Cambodian migrant workers continue to return home through border provinces, with those who are unvaccinated being placed immediately in quarantine, and with all being subject to temperature checks.
