But i thought maybe one day i write this book and people notice it, maybe one day the mayor of charleston will be holding it in front of an audience. [laughter] it tells the story of reconstruction and im going to read some passages from it some of which deal with the Police Department and some of which deal with the charleston mayor as the police chief and current mayor here is plain and poignant.
