FREEPORT Borrowing on the theme “Sing, Fly, Soar Like a Bird,” the Northwest Illinois Audubon Society and Freeport Art Museum are partnering for an event called World Migratory Day at 10:30 a.m. on May 8 at Taylor Park.
Juliet Moderow of the Northwest Illinois Audubon Society has been working with Barry Treu of FAM to create a day that is part of an international celebration of migratory birds.
“The idea is to have kids put on wings made from materials supplied by the Freeport Art Museum to let them know what it is like to soar like a bird, Moderow said. We want the kids to get the feeling of how birds fly, stop, rest up for fuel and take to the sky.”
