Tracey Harrington, Cheshire Herald March 10, 2021 06:41PM By Mariah Melendez, Cheshire Herald staff CHESHIRE — In addition to dealing with the deadly COVID-19 virus, this particular winter has been more severe than in recent years. Public Works Director George Noewatne recently reported to the Town council that the town went over its labor budget for snow removal by $15,000.  The Public Works Department budgeted $370,000 this year for snow removal based on what has been spent in years prior. The department is responsible for clearing town roads, town sidewalks and walkways, and town parking lots. Crews also plow a portion of the Linear Trail.
