won t be our last. we ve definitely never seen anything like this. so when we heard the storm was coming, we prepared as much as we could, but we knew we had to hunker down. so we ve never seen so much snowfall so fast. and we ve spent all day shoveling and snow blowing and trying to protect our property from debt collapse and keep the doorways open and moving and in the event that our street does one day get cleared, which it hasn t in over a week, we wanted to keep our driveway active. so everyone around is feeling back pain from all the snow removal and efforts to try to maintain their property and, you know, stay ahead of it. good spirits all around, benji, good attitude there. when you hear stuff like this, i mean, obviously it s you know, it s tough. you try to help everybody,
let s discuss with the erie county executive. mark, thank you for joining us. so you know this better than i do. the death toll apparently has risen to 31 people. that is correct, wolf. one of the worst things i can do is announce the deaths of individuals. unfortunately, we have 31 inner inner erie county. 17 were found out side in the snow. three were a result of cardiac events from snow shoveling, snow blowing and seven have hypothermia not having heat in the house due to the loss of power and the lack of heat. three were in vehicles as athena noted and one is for ems delay, in other words, our emergency responders could not get to the person because of the snow. they were blocked and by the time they got there was it too late. we lost 31 residents. the youngest i believe 22, the oldest in their 90s.
where i stand, and we re not even in a windchill advisory. there s a lot of lows still out tonight. take a look at the map. it is still lit up, and all the way down into the deep freeze. now we got windchill advisories that are up for west palm beach and naples, florida, and brownsville, texas, so it s going to be a brutal morning tomorrow, and, yeah, here s our the next storm coming in from the west. first tonight in the way of more heavy snow, grand rapids up through traverse city, erie, buffalo, dunkirk and then up through watertown. as long as these lights are not frozen, they are open for business. and that s what s happening now. another 6 to 12 inches of snow blowing sideways, but then things begin to taper off as far as the wind and snow goes for tomorrow morning. look at these numbers, some of the coldest christmas days on record for charlotte, atlanta and memphis. do have another alberta clipper that s dropping into the midwest. this is not going to bring a lot of snow, but f
hold. what we have at the moment is still a lot of heavy snow showers coming in across the north of scotland, strong winds, the snow blowing and drifting with blizzards. snow showers coming down the east coast, some in northern ireland today, we might see the odd one in cornwall and a mixture of rain, sleet and snow in the channel islands, and in between a lot of dry weather and a fair bit of sunshine but feeling cold, and when you add the effects of the wind the wind chill will make it feel below freezing for most of us, look at it in aberdeen, it will feel more like “6, in aberdeen, it will feel more like 6, as it will too in newcastle. this evening and overnight, further heavy snow showers fall across northern scotland, the wind will ease a touch but it will still be strong, blustery with snow showers coming in across the east coast of england, few getting into the south east, west wales and northern ireland, but a widespread harsh frost in sheltered glens, where temperatures cou
