The Livermore-Amador Symphonyâ¯is making a performance ofâ¯the childrenâs classic,â¯âPeter and the Wolf,â available online and illustrated with drawings by third-grade students at Smith Elementary School in Livermore.â¯â¯
The symphonyâs music director, Lara Webber, said the performance was recorded live at the Bankhead Theaterâ¯in 2015 and is narrated byâ¯formerâ¯Livermore mayor John Marchand.â¯
To illustrate the video,â¯Alan Frank,â¯aâ¯bassist andâ¯symphonyâ¯board president,â¯and Smith Elementaryâ¯teacher Anne Anaya, a violinistâ¯andâ¯a member of theâ¯symphony board, developed a virtual lesson plan.â¯
Afterâ¯watchingâ¯an animated version of âPeter and the Wolf,â about 120â¯third-gradeâ¯studentsâ¯at Smith Elementary were asked to draw their own pictures of the story using a mixture of pen and crayon, which Frank then added to the symphonyâsâ¯vi
