A Facebook post shows boxer Mike Tyson, wearing a t-shirt with the logo “Plan-Demic. My Body – My Choice.” This includes a crossed-out drawing of a syringe.  Plan-Demic is the name of a conspiracy theory,perpetuated by an online documentary, which falsely claims Covid-19 is the work of Bill Gates, the World Health Organisation and the pharmaceutical industry. It also claims vaccines weaken the immune system and make people more vulnerable to Covid-19.  A caption above the photo says “Mike Tyson knows what’s up!”

Smart Cups Add a New Dimension to Printed Beverages

Smart Cups recently added a caffeine-free beverage option, Refreshers. The ingredients are printed on PLA cups. New technology permits ingredient printing on cup sidewalls, which will expand product and market capabilities to fuel growth for the “waterless beverages”. A waterless beverage seems an oxymoron, but Smart Cups has made that incongruous concept a reality for optimized sustainable packaging. Billed as “the world’s first printed beverage,” the brand employs 20 and operates out of a 23,000 square foot facility in Mission Viejo, CA, and was the subject of a January 2020 interview with Packaging Digest. Chris Kanik, chief excitement officer, aka founder and CEO, enthusiastically responded to a request for a 2021 progress report, which yielded answers referencing expectations he had a year ago as well as new plans.
