While big bluefish are being found out front along the South Shore, false albacore are being caught amongst the Three Bays, and Boston's inner harbor is bubbling with blues, bass, blackfish and big bergalls.
With the season opening this weekend on April 1, cod and haddock are looming large for saltwater anglers, while over in the sweetwater, Wachusett sticks out for fans of lakers and landlocked salmon.
While a quick deep freeze forecasted for the weekend should provide safe ice for Central Mass and points west, anglers closer to the shore are enjoying open water opportunities for perch and pickerel.
