In a completely unexpected fashion, the legendary metal outfit Slipknot have announced they are parting ways with their longtime drummer, Jay Weinberg.
Drummer Jay Weinberg is parting ways with heavy metal legends Slipknot after a decade-long stint, as announced by the Grammy-winning band on their official website. Weinberg stepped into the role succeeding the original drummer, Joey Jordison following his departure in 2013.
Weinberg became a member of the ensemble in 2013 following the departure of their original drummer, Joey Jordison. In their announcement, the band acknowledged Jay s respectful tribute to Joey s contributions, underscoring his valuable input across the last three albums. “No one can ever replace Joey Jordisons original sound, style or energy, but Jay honored Joeys parts and contributed to the last three albums and we, the band, and the fans appreciate it. But as ever, Slipknot is intent on evolving. The band has decided to make a creative decision, and to part ways with Jay," they said.
