Reporter investigators are still on the scene of the shootout that took place in this Shopping Center parking lot today. It was a shootout between two suspects and two armored truck security guards. The security guards won that battle but the suspects were captured later thanks in large part to an alert shopper at a nearby Grocery Store. This is where it began. The parking lot of this capital one bank. A dunbar armored truck was parked here. Two suspects approached and opened fire. But the dunbar security guards fired back. One of the suspects fired a shot at the dunbar security individuals and the guards returned fire both of them fired, and the suspect was hit several times. Reporter the dunbar truck drove across the parking lot to the Harris Teater to get away from the gunfire. The suspects jumped into a car and fled but an alert shop

A lookout was put out for those suspects and several miles away on the Fairfax County parkway, a Fairfax County officer saw the car that everyone was looking for, was able to pull it over. We do have pictures now of one of the suspects in that car. They pulled the car over. They discovered that the passenger, one of the suspects was suffering from gunshot wounds. Were told he was shot maybe as many as four times on the saep by one of those armored truck drivers. The driver, the other suspect, was taken into custody without he did not fight back at the scene. The injured suspect was fwloun to the hospital where were told he has lifethreatening injuries. We believe there are two different scenes involved in this situation. They received a call around 1 30 for an attempted robbery in chantilly this afternoon. Deputies say multiple shots were fired between a suspect and a security personnel in the armored truck and they put out lookout information on the car. Fairfax county police found that car and they took the driver into custody and it appeared the passenger had gunshot injuries. So he was transported to an area hospital. Now, its not clear what that persons condition is at the moment. Or how many times that person was shot. We are standing by for an update from authorities here at the scene.
