Armed standoff continues in Livingston

LIVINGSTON â An armed standoff in Livingston continues Wednesday morning, causing the cancellation of classes at schools in the area and the evacuation of some residents.
The Park County Sheriff s Office said in a news release that deputies attempted to serve a court-ordered eviction around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday to 49-year-old Michael Marfuta.
Deputies attempted to serve the eviction while Marfuta was away from the residence. He fled and later confronted the deputies with a knife back at his residence. Livingston Police arrived on scene to assist in securing the area and negotiating a peaceful resolution with Marfuta.
