Despite being a political appointee himself, Pasir Mas MP Ahmad Fadhli Shaari disagrees with letting politicians head government agencies or government-linked companies (GLCs).
He said he was prepared to resign from being the chairperson of the Skills Development Fund Corporation (PTPK) if the position could be promised to someone from his party, PAS.

KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 ― The minimum wage rate is being reviewed to ensure the earnings of workers remain relevant with current economic conditions, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
The prime minister said the government is always concerned about the issue of minimum wage and would take efforts to better protect workers’ rights.
“I hope all parties would get involved and urge those wishing to voice their views and suggestions on this issue to participate through the platform that is provided,” he said in his 2021 Workers’ Day address aired over local television today.

He said this was part of efforts taken by the government in the past one year under its three-pronged strategy to help workers weather the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

In his Labour Day address on Saturday (May 1), Muhyiddin said that the government will prioritise and safeguard the welfare of workers from all levels to ensure no one is left behind
He added that many are still suffering as they try to maintain their livelihood during the pandemic and the slowdown of the economy.
“I do not deny that despite the government’s many efforts to assist, there are still workers out there affected and will take much time to return to their lives as they have enjoyed before the pandemic struck, ” said Muhyiddin
